OVERVIEW
Large mainline paving projects are part of Northland's core service offerings, and they are an important part of our company's history. The Minnesota Department of Transportation's (MnDOT) Highway 61 repaving project in Grand Portage, Minnesota, included the removal and resurfacing of 17 miles of road along the scenic Highway 61 roadway at the northernmost point of Minnesota's Arrowhead region.
The Northland team manufactured and installed 100,000 tons of bituminous mix during this two-year project. The project stretched from the Canadian border to south of Grand Portage. The Grand Portage Tribe was welcoming to our team and were the most important partner for us on this project.
