OVERVIEW
The intersection of Midway Road and Maple Grove Road outside of Hermantown, Minnesota, was extremely dangerous. While Maple Grove Road had stop signs, traffic on Midway road went straight through at high speeds. St. Louis County elected to construct a roundabout at this intersection to improve traffic flow and more importantly keep people safe. Roundabouts have continued to become more prevalent in the design of our roadways.
The Northland team constructed the county's first roundabout in record time, completing work before school started and winter weather set in. Our team is a great fit for roundabout projects as they require careful schedule planning and synchronization of trades. Our team delivers these projects efficiently as we perform the necessary excavation, grading, concrete and blacktop work ourselves. The end result of the Maple Grove Road Roundabout project was a functional and fitting roadway improvement that helped improve traffic flow.
