OVERVIEW
Highway 61 along Minnesota's North Shore is one of the most scenic drives in the Midwest. This project aimed at improving bridges and traffic in two areas at Silver Creek and Stewart River. This complex project was a great representation of what the Northland team brings to the table and included mass excavation, grading, blasting, stream restoration, blacktop paving, concrete flatwork, piling, two new bridges, and renovating an existing historic bridge.
Our teams constructed bypasses and ensured the safety of local drivers on this busy stretch of scenic roadway. We also took measures to guarantee that local rivers were protected, and habitat was improved. Northland has decades of experience working around our pristine natural resources, and this project was a great representation of how important Northland's services are to improving the infrastructure of our area.
