Bridge Construction and Demolition
The network of bridges and tunnels that criss-cross our region is immense, and keeping every piece of this integral infrastructure in good working condition is essential to keeping the public safe. Northland has decades of experience in building and repairing a variety of bridge types. We’ve worked with steel structures, prestressed concrete beams, slab spans, concrete arches, and more. Northland owns equipment to perform the work, including multiple lattice boom and rough terrain cranes as well as specialty equipment for pile driving and finishing concrete.
FEATURED PROJECT
Stewart River and Silver Creek
Bridge maintenance is essential to public safety. Northland has been working with MnDOT to address bridges over the Stewart River on Highway 61. Our team constructed a new, 130-foot-long prestressed concrete beam bridge adjacent to the existing bridge, which will be rehabilitated in 2023. The new bridge will be dedicated to southbound traffic, while the rehabilitated historic bridge will be for northbound traffic. At Silver Creek, Northland constructed a new 145-foot prestressed concrete beam bridge to replace an aging box culvert.
